Today, many of us communicate with each other by cell phones, emails, text messages, and social networking. With such quick access to others, it is so easy for us to send something and then want to delete it. For many communication methods like texting and social networking sites, information that is deleted continues to "live on" in cyberspace (Ribble, 2015). Remember that your information can be shared and viewed by anyone.

SextingSexting is when someone takes and shares sexually explicit materials, such as nude or semi-nude pictures (Ribble, 2015). Once an image is shared, it will forever be on the internet. Be smart and don't do something you will regret later.

As a digital citizen, it is your responsibility to be aware of your actions when using the internet to communicate. Social media is a wonderful resource. However, if it is used improperly, it can do a lot of harm. It has made it so easy for everyone to post comments or upload images instantly. Be careful of what you post! Once your comment or images are online, it is there for everyone to see.
